I'm the CEO and co-founder of the CNJ Digital agency in Ljubljana, with more than 15 years of experience building digital products. Alongside running the agency, I advise companies, organisations and the public sector on planning, running and rescuing IT projects. ### What services do you offer as an IT consultant?

Three core ones: project planning (setting up the brief, defining scope and risks before the first euro is spent), project management (from idea to delivery, with a structure that keeps the team and deadlines together) and project rescue (stepping in as a consultant on a project that isn't going to plan). The point is that the client gets someone who understands both technology and business.

### Who is your consulting for?

For larger companies, organisations and the public sector that don't have in-house IT experts or need an independent view of an existing project. Typically the project is complex, the budget is significant and the client can't afford for things to go wrong.

### How much does an IT consultant cost in Slovenia?

The price depends on the scope, duration and complexity of the engagement. As a guide: a smaller consulting engagement (concept review, setting up the brief) starts at a few thousand euros, while longer project management is agreed based on scope. ### What's the difference between an IT consultant and an IT contractor?

A contractor builds (writes code, designs, develops). A consultant helps set up correctly what gets built, why and how. Ideally you have both: a consultant who sets up the project and a contractor who delivers it. I cover the consulting side; for delivery I often work with my team at CNJ Digital, or the client chooses their own contractor.

### When do I need an IT consultant?

When you're not sure exactly what you need. When you have a quote from a contractor but don't know if it's realistic. When a project is already running, but not the way it should. Or when you're preparing a larger IT investment and want an independent opinion before signing the contract. In short: when the stakes are high enough that you can't afford the wrong decision.

### How does working together start?

We start with a free 30-minute call where I understand your situation and assess whether I'm the right person to help. If I am, I prepare a proposal with a concrete scope, timeline and price. No presentations, no sales pressure.

### Do you only work with Slovenian clients?

No. CNJ Digital is based in Ljubljana but also works with international clients. As a consultant I work mostly with Slovenian companies and the public sector, because that's where my added value (understanding the local context) is greatest.

### Kakšna je razlika med IT svetovalcem in IT izvajalcem?

Izvajalec gradi (piše kodo, oblikuje, razvija). Svetovalec pomaga pravilno zastaviti kaj se gradi, zakaj in kako. Idealno imaš oboje: svetovalca, ki zastavi projekt, in izvajalca, ki ga izvede. Jaz pokrivam svetovalsko stran, za izvedbo pa pogosto sodelujem s svojo ekipo pri CNJ Digital ali pa naročnik izbere lastnega izvajalca.

### Kdaj potrebujem IT svetovalca?

Ko nisi prepričan, kaj točno rabiš. Ko imaš ponudbo od izvajalca, ampak ne veš, ali je realna. Ko projekt že teče, ampak ne tako, kot bi moral. Ali ko se pripravljaš na večjo investicijo v IT in hočeš neodvisno mnenje, preden podpišeš pogodbo. Skratka: ko je vložek dovolj velik, da si ne moreš privoščiti napačne odločitve.

### Kako poteka sodelovanje?

Začneva z brezplačnim 30-minutnim klicem, kjer razumem vašo situacijo in ocenim, ali sem pravi sogovornik. Če sem, pripravim predlog sodelovanja s konkretnim obsegom, rokom in ceno. Brez prezentacij, brez prodajnega pritiska.
